The Bright Side of the Student Cards
A credit card offered only to students is called a student card. These cards were designed to help students to establish credit and financial freedom. Students should take advantage of the rewards and cashback incentives offered by many student credit cards. Some websites can compare student cards at once. But before you apply for one, you should understand a student card is.
Simply put a credit card is a loan by the issuing company, to help establish credit. When you sign up for one, you are given a line of credit (basically your spending limit). Whenever you use it the company will pay for those purchases, and at a later date you will pay the credit card company back. There are also service fees and other charges you will have to pay back also, some higher than others. The great thing about student cards is that they are often much easier to get approved. They also have a lower credit limit than other cards, so the student can spend without getting into serious debt.
Student credit cards offer the same advantages as other credit/debit cards. They allow you to make purchases, pay bills over the phone and online. They also come in handy when you need a little extra cash and/or for emergencies. Whenever it is used the purchase is tracked by the issuing company, so you don’t have to balance your checkbook. Ever. Just be sure to keep track of your bills and pay them on time. Some company increase your credit limit as an incentive to pay the bill on time.
